Seleccionados en Cartagena de Indias / Selected in Cartagena de Indias

Una nueva selección en Colombia, y en esta ocasión en uno de los festivales más importantes de America Latina. El Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias se celebrará del 25 de Febrero al 5 de Marzo, y allí estará 'Sombras en el viento'.

Lo gran noticia de esta selección es que este festival está reconocido por la Academia de Cine de Hollywood, lo que quiere decir que en el caso de obtener un premio, el corto sería automáticamente preseleccionado para las nominaciones a los Oscars de 2011.

A new selection in Colombia, and this occasion in one of the most important festivals of Latin America. The Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias will take place between the 25th of February and the 5th of March, and 'Shadows in the wind' will be there.

The great piece of news is that this festival is recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science, that means that in case we won an award, the short film would be automatically preselected for the oscars Nominations 2011.

Nuevo premio a la Fotografía / New award for the Photography

'Sombras en el viento' ha sido galardonado con un nuevo premio, en esta ocasión se trata del premio a la Mejor Fotografía dado en el festival asturiano Corto Mieres. Es el segundo galardón que reconoce la labor de Helena Gelado como Directora de Fotografía por nuestro corto, tras el premio obtenido en el Festival Octubre Corto de Arnedo el pasado mes de Octubre.
Desde ATRACO PERFECTO queremos felicitar a Helena por el nuevo premio y a los eléctricos y equipo de cámara por la parte que les corresponde. ¡Enhorabuena!

Comentar además que hemos vuelto a estar a escasos votos de ganar también el premio del público, como nos ha pasado ya en tres festivales anteriores. Confiamos en que tarde o temprano caiga...

'Shadows in the wind' has been awarded with a new prize. In this occasion we are talking of the Best Photography Award, that was given in the Asturian Festival Corto Mieres. This is the second award for our short film's Director of Photography, Helena Gelado, after having won an award at the Festival Octubre Corto de Arnedo last October.
On behalf of ATRACO PERFECTO we want to congratulate Helena for this new award and also the electricians and the camera crew for their great work. Congratulations!

We want to point out that we nearly won the Audience Award. We didn't obteined it just for a few votes, as it happened in three previous Film Festivals. We hope that sooner or later we'll succeed in winning it...

David Bailie será Saddam Hussein... ¡El musical!/ David Bailie will be Saddam Hussein... The Musical!

David Bailie, quien interpretó a Mr. Behrman en 'Sombras en el viento', tiene un nuevo y sorprendente proyecto: Encarnará a Saddam Hussein en un film musical sobre la invasión de Irak (sic). La verdad es que David no dejará nunca de asombrarnos con sus interpretaciones.
La película se titulará 'Babes of Baghdad', y aquí podeis ver su teaser.

David Bailie, who played Mr. Behrman in 'Shadows in the wind', has a new and surprising project: He will perform Saddam Hussein in a musical film about the invasion of Irak (sic). Actually, David won't stop amazing us with his performances.

En escuelas de La India / In schools of India

Tras haber participado en Diciembre en el Madurai Film Festival, el corto será proyectado en varias escuelas de la región india de Tamilnadu en los próximos meses. Esta es una iniciativa del festival para acercar cine de todo el globo a los niños de esta parte del país.

No será la pimera vez que se proyecte el corto en escuelas del mundo, ya que en estas mismas fechas se está pasando en aulas de la región argentina de Valera, auspiciado por la Asociación de Artistas Visuales de Varela.

After having participated in the Madurai Film Festival in December, the short film will be screened in several schools in the Indian region of Tamilnadu until next June. This is the Festival initiative to approach the world cinema to the children of that part of the country.

It won't be the first time that the short film is screened in schools around the world, for during these days it is being screened at the Argentinian region of Valera's classrooms, promoted by the Asociación de Artistas Visuales de Varela.

Selecciondos en Polonia/ Selected in Poland

'Sombras en el viento' ha sido seleccionado en un nuevo festival, a finales de Febrero participará en el International Film Festival ZOOM - ZBLIZENIA que se celebrará en Jelenia-Gora, Polonia. Es el primer festival de este país en que participamos, y el segundo en el este de Europa, tras el International Film Festival KRAF de Croacia en Noviembre.

'Shadows in the wind' has been selected in another film festival. At the end of February it will participate at the International Film Festival ZOOM-ZBLIZENIA which will take place in Jelenia-Gora, Poland. This is the first festival for us in this country, and the second one based in the East of Europe, after having participated in the International Film Festival FRAF of Croatia last November .

¡Uno más en Estados Unidos! / One more in the USA!

Si ayer os deciamos que habiamos sido selecciondos en Mississippi, hoy hemos sabido que estaremos también en Nebraska, concretamente en el Omaha Film Festival, que se celebrará del 8 al 14 de Marzo. Ya solo nos quedan 45 estados por conquistar...

Doblete en USA/ Two selections in USA at the same time

Coincidiendo en fechas con el Beloit International Film Festival, a finales de Febrero, el corto se proyectará también en el Magnolia Indepent Film Festival, más conocido como The Mag, en Starkville, Mississippi. Es el cuarto festival de los Estados Unidos en que participamos.

The short film will be screened at the Magnolia Independent Film Festival, better known as The Mag, is Starkville, Mississippi, at the end of February, at the same time as the Beloit International Film Festival will be taking place . This is the fourth American festival we participate in.

Llegamos a un nuevo país / We arrive to a new country

¡Y van dieciseis! En esta ocasión el corto ha sido seleccionado en Uruguay, concretamente en La Pedrera Short Film Festival, que se está celebrando durante estos días.

And there go sixteen! in this occasion the short film has been selected in Uruguay by La Pedrera Short Film Festival, which is taking place during these days.

'Shadows' el Mejor corto rodado en Asturias 'Shadows' Best short shot in Asturias

El festival asturiano Ribadedeva en Corto, en el que participamos el pasado Agosto, da todos los años un premio al Mejor Corto Rodado en Asturias, y este año ha considerado a 'Shadows in the wind' como el mejor corto rodado en 2009.

La entrega del premio, seguida de una proyección de los cortos finalistas y una espicha, se hará el próximo dia 22 de Enero en el Centro Asturiano de Madrid, en la calle Farmacia, 2.

El trofeo que da el festival es un urogallo (entendemos que de metal, no para comérnoslo), y a falta de tener una imágen de dicho trofeo os dejamos una foto del emblemático pollo asturiano.

The Asturian Film Festival, Ribadedeva en Corto, in which we participated last August, gives every year an award to the Best Short Film shot in Asturias, and this year 'Shadows in the wind' has been given that award.
Followed by the projection of the finalist short films and a 'espicha ' (some drinks and snacks) , the award ceremony will take place on the 22nd of January in the Asturian Centre of Madrid, located in calle Farmacia, 2.
The trophy consist in a capercaillie ( We assume that it will be metal made, not for eating) and being uncapable of having and image of that trophy we show you a photo of the emblematic Asturian chicken.

Una Nueva Mención Especial para el corto/ A New Special Metion for the short film

Este fin de semana el corto ha sido reconocido con una Mención de Honor por el jurado del festival Curt al Pap'09, en Parcent, Alicante. Además, en la nota de prensa del festival también se hace mención al trabajo de David Bailie.

Es ya el séptimo premio que recibe 'Shadows in the wind'. ¡Enhorabuena a todos los miembros del equipo!

This weekend the short film has been given an Honor Mention by the jury of the Festival Curt al Pap'09, in Parcent, Alicante. The press release of the festival has mentioned as well the work of David Bailie.
