Un nuevo festival en los Estados Unidos, en esta ocasión en Iowa. El New Strand Film Festival tendrá lugar del 30 de Abril al 2 de Mayo, y hace el festival número 13 que el corto tendrá en este país y el 24 en todo el continente americano.

A new festival in the United States. In this occasion in Iowa. The New Strand Film Festival will take place from the 30th of April to the 2nd of May and it makes the 13th festival for the short at this country and the number 24 at the American continent.

El festival más remoto/ The most remote film festival

Hace unos meses el corto fue seleccionado en el Reelout International Film Festival, en Kingston, Canadá. Ahora volverá a este país para participar en el Haida Gwaii Film Festival, un festival que se celebra en las islas del Archipiélago de la Reina Carlota, en la costa del Pacífico. Estas islas están pobladas unicamente por indios, cazadores, pescadores y osos grizzly, y a ellas tan solo se puede llegar por hidroavión. La viva imagen de 'Doctor en Alaska'.

Some months ago the short film was selected in the Reelout International Film Festival, in Kingston, Canada. And now it will return to that country in order to participate in the Haida Gwaii Film Festival, a film festival that will take place at the Queen Carlota Archipielago islands, located at the Pacific Cost. This islands are populated just by Indians, hunters, fishermen and Grizzly bears, and you can only get there by seaplane. The living image of 'Northern Exposure'

Visitamos Báltimore/ We visit Baltimore

De nuevo 'Sombras en el viento' ha sido selecconado en los Estados Unidos, y Maryland es el nuevo estado donde recalará el corto. El Johns Hopkins Film Festival se celebrará a mediados de Abril en Baltimore, ciudad natal del irreverente cineasta John Waters y escenario de casi todas sus películas.

Once again 'Shadows in the wind' has been selected in the United States, and Maryland happens to be the new state where the short film will arrived. The Johns Hopkins Film Festival will take place on mid April in Baltimore, home town of the irreverent film maker John Waters and setting of almost all his films.

En el DVD de 'Chéri'/ In "Chéri" DVD edition

La distribuidora Cameo va a incluir 'Sombras en el viento' como un extra en el DVD de la película 'Chéri' de Stephen Frears, el director de 'Las amistades peligrosas', 'Mi hermosa lavanderia' o 'La reina'. La película está protagonizada por Michelle Pfeiffer y ambientada en la misma época que nuestro corto, los primeros años del siglo XX.

El DVD saldrá en alquiler el próximo mes de Mayo y poco después a la venta. Esta será una estupenda oportunidad para que 'Sombras en el viento' llegue a un público más amplio, que normalmente no ve cortometrajes.

The distribution company Cameo will include 'Shadows in the wind' as a bonus feature in the Spanish DVD edition of the film 'Chéri' by Stephen Frears, the director of 'Dangerous Liaisons', 'My beautiful laundrette', or 'The Queen'. Michelle Pfeiffer starts in the film which takes place at the same period as our short film, that is to say, the beginning of the 20th century.

The DVD will come out to rent next May and a little later it will be on sale. This is an extraordinary opportunity for 'Shadows in the wind' to reach a bigger audience who don't usually watch short films.

Seleccionados en Texas / Selected in Texas

Un nueva selección en los Estados Unidos. Texas será el 10º estado que visite el corto para participar en el 43th Annual WorldFest en Houston, la capital del estado. Este festival se celebrará del 9 al 18 del próximo mes de Abril.

One more selection in the United States. Texas will be the 10th state visited by the short film to participate at the 43th Annual WorldFest in Huston, the capital of the state. This festival will take place from the 9th to the 18th of April.

En dos festivales catalanes / At two Catalonian film festivals

'Sombras en el viento' ha sido seleccionada esta semana en dos pequeños festivales catalanes. Se trata de el Trofeu Torretes de Curtmetragets del Festimatge, y del Certamen Internacional de Cortometrajes de Cerdanya.

Este último es el festival número 75 en que participa el corto.

'Shadows in the wind' has been selected this week to participate in two Catalonian film festivals. We are talking about the Trofeu Torretes de Cutrmetratges, and the Certamen Internacional de Cortometrajes de Cerdanya.

This last one makes the 75th festival for the short film.

De nuevo en España / In Spain again

Parece mentira, pero durante los dos últimos meses hemos recorrido muchos festivales de cuatro continentes, y sin embargo no habiamos sido seleccionados en ningún festival español. Ahora volvemos a casa para participar en el Festival de las Artes Audiovisuales LGBT, otro festival de temátiga gay y lésbica que tendrá lugar del 12 al 20 de Marzo en Córdoba.

Isn't it incredible how during the last two months we've been selected in many film festivals from the four continents and yet haven't been selected in any Spanish film festival! Now we come back home to participate at the Festival de las Artes Audiovisuales LGBT, another gay and lesbian festival that will take place from the 12th to the 20th of March in Córdoba, Andalucía.

Alice Henley, quien dio vida a Johnnsy en el corto, acaba de protagonizar un importante anuncio de la cadena de televisión pública británica, la BBC. Alice ha trabajado en la película Promesas del Este, dirigida por David Cronemberg, y en las series Roma y My Almost Famous Family.

Alice Henley, who played Johnsy in the short, have just taken part in an important BBC advertisement. Alice has started in the film Eastern Promises, directed by David Cronenberg, and in TV series as Rome and My Almost Famous Family.

Nominados en los premios ACE/ Nominated for the ACE awards

La Agencia del Cortometraje Español (ACE) celebra todos los años una entrega de premios a los mejores cortometrajes, tanto de socios como de foráneos, y este año 'Sombras en el viento' es candidato al mejor cortometraje en el apartado de no socios. La entrega se realizará el 28 de Marzo y os informaremos si al final cae algo.

The Agencia del Cortometraje Español (ACE) celebrates every year an award ceremony for its members' best short films as well as for the non members best short films, and this year 'Shadows in the wind' has been nominated for best short film in the non member category. The ceremony will take place the 28th of March. We will inform you in case we won something.

Primer festival en Africa/ First festival in Africa

El corto está teniendo muy buena acogida en Europa y America, y tiene cinco selecciones en Asia (Turquia y La India), pero hasta hoy no habia sido seleccionado en el continente africano. El Cape Wineland Film Festival es un festival que tiene lugar en Stellenbosch, Sudáfrica, cerca de Ciudad del Cabo, que como su propio nombre indica es una tierra de estupendos vinos. Además, Sudafrica es el país donde nació nuestro querido David Bailie.

The short film is having a good reception around Europe and America, and it also have five selections in Asia (Turkey and India), but it had never been selected in the African continent before. The Cape Wineland Film Festival is a festival that takes place in Stellenbosch, South Africa, close to Cape Town, a land full of wonderful wines as its own name points out. South Africa is as well the country where our dear David Bailie was born.

Nueva selección en Turquia / New selection in Turkey

Estos días está teniendo lugar el Second Hand Film Festival. 'Sombras en el viento' está seleccionado en él y será el tercer festival de Turquia y el segundo de Ankara en que participe.

The Second Hand Film Festival is taking place during these days. 'Shadows in the wind' has been selected to participate in it. This will make the third Turkish Film Festival and the second one in Ankara for the short.

10º Festival en USA / 10th Festival in the USA

Nueva York, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Nebraska, Florida, Carolina del Sur, California (San Francisco y Los Ángeles) y ahora Rhode Island. El corto ha sido seleccionado en el SENE Film, Music and Arts Festival, que se celebrará del 7 al 11 de Abril en Providence, la capital de este estado y de la zona de la costa este popularmente conocida como Nueva Inglaterra.

Cumplimos 1 año / We are 1 year old

Hoy hace un año de la primera proyección pública de 'Sombras en el viento'.

El 2 de Marzo de 2009 el corto se estrenaba en la Filmoteca de Asturias, en Oviedo, con la presencia del equipo asturiano y David Bailie. Al día siguiente se proyectaba en Gijón, en el Centro de Interpretación del Cine en Asturias (CICA), y unos días después tenía lugar en Madrid el estreno oficial para el equipo y amigos, en la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España. Después celebrabamos una pequeña fiesta en el Soul Station a la que asistieron las actices Susan Stanley y Alice Henley.

Desde entonces, 'Sombras en el viento' ha sido seleccionado en 71 festivales de 18 paises. El corto se ha visto en España, Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, India, Suiza, Grecia, Canadá, Alemania, Méjico, Turquia, Italia, Colombia, Perú, Polonia, Uruguay, Croacia, Argentina y Chile.
Además, ha obtenido 16 nominaciones y nueve premios, que incluyen mejor corto, dirección, fotografía y guión adaptado.

Today it's been a year of the public screening of 'Shadows in the wind'.

The short film was released the 2nd of March of 2009 at the Filmoteca de Asturias, in Oviedo, and the Asturian crew and David Bailie attended the screening. The next day, the film was released in Gijón, at the Centro de Interpretación del Cine en Astirias (CICA), and some days after the official release took place in Madrid at the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España for the crew and friends. Afterwards, we celebrated a little party at the Soul Station and the actresses Susan Stanley and Alice Henley attended it.

Since then, 'Shadows in the wind' has been selected in 71 festivals from 18 different countries. The short film has been watched in Spain, United States, United Kingdom, India, Switzerland, Greece, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Turkey, Italy, Colombia, Peru, Poland, Uruguay, Croatia, Argentina and Chile. It has also obteined 16 nominations and nine awards, including best short film, best direction, best photography and adapted screenplay.

En un festival de LA / At a festival in LA

Continúa la racha por los Estados Unidos, y ahora hemos sido seleccionados ni más ni menos que en la ciudad de Los Angeles. 'Sombras en el viento' participará en el Reel Women International Film Festival que se celebrará en el cinematográfico barrio de Burbank, donde están todos los estudios, del 26 de Marzo al 1 de Abril.

The selections in the United States still go on, and now we've been selected in one sited in Los Angeles. 'Shadows in the Wind' will participate from March 26h to April 1st in the Reel Women International Film Festival which is taking place in the cinematographic Burbank neighborhood, where all the studios are placed.
